একটি নতুন বাড়ি নির্মাণের পর পালা আসে তার ভেতরটা সাজানোর। কি ভাবে সাজানো যায়, কি ধরণের ডিজাইন হবে মূলত সেই বিষয়টা নিয়ে কাজ করাই ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনারের কাজ। শুধু বাড়ি নয় এর পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন অফিস-আদালতে অভ্যন্তরীণ ডিজাইনের কাজ করে থাকে ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনিং ব্যবসায়ীরা। এই ব্যবসায় প্রচুর সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশে মানুষ আর্থিকভাবে স্বচ্ছল হওয়ার পাশাপাশি তাদের সৌখিনতাও বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। ফলশ্রুতিতে ভবিষ্যতে এই ব্যবসার চাহিদা ও সম্ভাবনা দিনে দিনে বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে।
ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইন সম্পর্কে ধারণাঃ
গৃহের প্রতিটি স্থানকে কাজে লাগিয়ে আসবাব, লাইট, গৃহসজ্জা সামগ্রীর যথাযথ ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে বাড়ি, অফিস বা যেকোনো প্রতিষ্ঠানকে আরামদায়ক ও নান্দনিকভাবে উপস্থাপন করাই ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনের প্রধান লক্ষ্য। একজন ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনার হতে হলে অবশ্যই প্রফেশনাল ট্রেইনিং নিতে হবে। কারণ এই কাজটি শৃঙ্খলার প্রকাশ করে। সুন্দর ও আকর্ষণীয় গৃহের অভ্যন্তরীণ সাজসজ্জার মাধ্যমে ব্যক্তিত্ব ও রুচির বহিঃপ্রকাশ ঘটে। লাইটিং, সিস্টেম, ভার্টিক্যাল এবং হরাইজন্টাল সারফেস ইত্যাদি সম্পর্কে ধারণা থাকা দরকার এই কাজ করার জন্য। আর সে জন্যই প্রফেশনাল ট্রেইনিং এত প্রয়োজন এই কাজ করার জন্য।
যেখান থেকে এর শুরুঃ
এই পেশাটি ১০০ বছরের ও অধিক পুরনো একটি পেশা । ১৯০০ সালের শুরুর দিকে আমেরিকাতে সর্ব প্রথম এই “ইন্টেরিয়র ডেকোরেটর” শব্দটির ব্যাবহার হয়। কিন্তু তখনও এর পেশাগত যাত্রা শুরু হয়নি। ১৯১৩ সালে Elsie de Wolfe প্রথম ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনের উপর বই একটি বই প্রকাশ করেন যার নাম ছিলো The House in Good Taste। এরপর ১৯২৩ সালে Dorothy Draper ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনের উপর প্রথম একটি ফার্ম তৈরী করেন যা পরবর্তীতে ১৯২৫ সালে বাণিজ্যিকভাবে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক রুপ নেয়।

একটি ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনার কোম্পানির কাজের পরিসর অনেক বেশি। অনেক দিক বিবেচিনা করে, লোকবল খাঁটিয়ে এই কাজ করতে হয়। তাই এই কাজের ঝুঁকি অবশ্যই বেশি। তবে সঠিক ভাবে কাজ করতে পারলে খুব সহজেই কোটি কোটি টাকা আয় করা সম্ভব। বাংলাদেশে প্রতিনিয়তই বাড়ি, অফিস বা নতুন স্ট্রাকচার নির্মাণের কাজ চলছেই। তাই একজন ইন্টেরিয়র ডিজাইনারের হিসেবে কাজের সম্ভাবনাও এখানে অনেক বেশি।

Understanding of lighting, systems, vertical and horizontal surfaces etc. is required to do this job. And that’s why professional training is so necessary to do this job.
From where it starts:
This profession is more than 100 years old. The term “interior decorator” was first used in America in the early 1900s. But his professional journey has not yet started. In 1913 Elsie de Wolfe published the first book on interior design called The House in Good Taste. Then in 1923 Dorothy Draper formed the first firm on interior design, which later became commercially institutionalized in 1925.

The scope of work of an interior designer company is huge. This work has to be done by considering many aspects and manpower. So the risk of this job is definitely high. But if you work properly, it is possible to earn crors taka very easily. Construction of houses, offices or new structures is constantly going on in Bangladesh.
